In the event of fire damage to your home or apartment, here are a few fixes for rugs that obtained a horrific smoke odor or have been physically damaged by the fire.
In order to effectively remove smoke odor from the natural fibers of your rug, you must first and foremost wash the rug. A standard wash will do. You then have to follow the wash up with deodorizing solutions that are made to help remove odors specifically from your rug. Most heavily saturated rugs can be restored by a professional rug washer if you get it to them sooner than later of the time of the damage.
